1. ORGANIZATION

The regatta will be organized by Yacht Club Italiano, the Yacht Club di Capri and Circolo Canottieri Aniene. The event will host the XIII edition of the Southern Wind Trophy.

2. RULES

The Regatta will be governed by:
Rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing 2013-2016,
Appendix SY to the RRS (Exhibit 1) http://www.superyra.org/appendix-sy.html,
The ORC SuperYacht Rule (ORCsy),
The ORC Rating System 2016,
The IRC Rating System 2016,
The ISAF Offshore Special Regulations Category 3 with life rafts compulsory on board,
Where and if a specific Trophy is available for specific class rules, the class rules of that class shall apply to boats competing for that Trophy,
The official language of this event is English.

3. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY

- Super Yachts with L.O.A. 24 m. with a valid ORCsy Handicap Certificate; It is at the discretion

of the Organizing Authority to invite or invite or accept in the Super Yachts divisions, Yachts of particular interest or historical significance with LOA of less than 24 m. which comply in all other respects with this Notice of Race. Boats in Superyachts division shall have cruising interiors found

in traditional cruising superyachts, determination of what constitutes a cruising interiors will be at the sole discretion of Organizing Authority. Southern Wind Yachts smaller than 24 m are eligible for the Southern Wind Trophy.

- ORC-IRC with LOA 18,05 Meters with a valid ORC/IRC Handicap Certificate

- Class 950 monotype
Fully completed entry forms shall be sent via email to
info@yci.it. Competitors shall present during confirmation of registration:

a) A certificate of third party liability insurance with an adequate cover, taking into account the value of the boats racing and the measures of damages likely to arise in the event of an accident.

b) ORCsy-ORC-IRC minimum cover of Euro 3.000.000,00. Class950 minimum cover of Euro 1.500.000,00.

c) Valid ORCsy 2016 – ORC/IRC Certificate
d) Name and mobile telephone numbers for the Boat Captain, designated Safety Officer

and Racing Tactician (only for ORCsy).
e) Safety Officer Resume / Credentials (NOR 9 - only for ORCsy)

Eligible boats must register by 6 pm of April 30th 2016.
Late entries (arrived after the due date) in any event not later May 14th 2016 if accepted by the Organizing Committee will have a 50% surcharge.

4. ENTRY FEES

The entry application shall be accompanied by the entry fee.
- ORCsy Euro 1,500.00 for 2016 Super Yacht Racing Association (SYRA) members. Non members

might have to pay a differential.
- ORC/IRC Euro 1.500,00.
- Classe 950 Free.

Entry can only be confirmed with complete entry form and full payment.

5. FORMAT OF RACES

A maximum of 5 races are scheduled over 4 days.
The fleet will be split into different classes depending on entries. Superyacht Classes will feature a staggered start and coastal races.

The detailed social schedule will be emailed to the entrants and published on the event web site at a later stage.
Alteration of program: The Organizing Authority an the race Committee reserve the right to modify the above program according to weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances

7. RATING CERTIFICATE

All yachts are required to have a current and valid ORC Super Yacht (ORCsy)/ORC/IRC Rating Certificate.

ORCsy shall receive the complete set of information, as described in the ORC super yacht web page, including the on line application form duly filled for yachts without any previous ORCsy certificate, not later than the 26th of April 2016.

8. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS

Sailing Instructions will be available to competitors at the Race Office in Capri from 11.00 a.m. Thursday May 24th 2016 only at completion of the registration formalities.

9. SAFETY OFFICER (Only for ORCsy)

Each yacht shall designate a Safety Officer and submit a Safety Officer Information Form 30 days prior to racing (posted on the event web site and distributed to all captains via email). The Safety Officer’s name, local mobile telephone number and email address must be confirmed at registration.
The Safety Officer shall be a member of the afterguard whose primary responsibility will be communicating on the dedicated VHF safety channel while racing, collision avoidance and the safe maneuvering of the yacht. The Safety Officer should have no other responsibility above and beyond these safety related matters. The Safety Officer must have a handheld VHF radio in their possession from the time the yacht approaches the starting area until departing the finishing area following the race.
The Safety Officer shall attend all pre-race briefings and will be responsible for ensuring the Daily Declaration Form is returned to the Race Office as soon as practicable following racing each day, but no later than two hours after finishing.

10. SCORING

The Low Point System of Appendix A will apply.
The event is valid if at least 1 race is regularly completed.

11. PRIZES

Prize to 1st , 2nd and 3rd scored in each class and for the 1st , 2nd and 3rd scored in the Southern Wind Trophy.
Other prizes will be announced later

12. RESPONSIBILITY

Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. Decision to race or to continue racing is their own responsibility. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during or after the regatta.

13. AUTHORIZATION TO USE NAME AND LIKENESS

Taking part in this race, the competitor gives the organization and the event’s sponsors authority to use and show at all time, static or moving photos, films or TV recording and all duplication of himself during all the competition. He also gives authority to use without any compensation his own image on all Materials of such event.
